TL;DR: This router seemed amazing on paper. However, I should have listened to the reviews claiming that it had severe wireless issues. It does have issues, and they make it unusable. I only wish I had the sense to return it before my window closed.
I purchased this in March 2017, and tried so hard to make it work for my household. I shrugged off the wireless lock-ups or weird issues as something that I was configuring incorrectly. I even tried the tried-and-true DD-WRT firmware (which is now mostly compatible with the WRT3200ACM) to see if the issues would disappear.
They did not. I still have the exact same problem as of May 29.
Basically, what happens is this: after a variable amount of time from being rebooted, the wireless radios will work and everything is fine. However, within a few hours to a couple of days, the wireless radios stop working. The router will not accept new wireless connections, and existing connections can't access internet. Wired (Ethernet) appears to work during this time.
The current rumor circulating on the internet is that the wireless chipset's driver, published by Marvell, is broken or doesn't work well. Returning and replacing these routers has been proven not to be effective at resolving this issue, as it's likely you'll receive another defective product. So at some point down the road if you buy one of these you'll likely get stabbed in the back by the poor wireless driver. Until there's lots of evidence that this is fixed and that both Linksys and Marvell have their act together, you should not buy this router. Like me, you'll end up eating a ~200 cost for a broken product.
Purchased this router if Jan 2017 based on the good reviews and belief that Linksys produced a good product.It worked okay for 10 months with good 2.4ghz service but the 5ghz was a bit disappointing.Then like others have reported in their reviews, suddenly this Nov. the 5ghz and 2.4 ghz started dropping and refusing connections requiring me to reboot the unit daily and in some cases every few hours. Even after defaulting it to factory, reloading latest firmware, etc. the problems would always reappear after a few hours.
Contacted Linksys support Nov. 27th, after some brief trouble shooting with the tech, they determined my unit needed to be RMA'd...fine.I gave them a credit card number for an advanced replacement the said would be arriving in 7 business days.On Dec. 7th I notified my replacement router had just shipped....Yes, that's right.. almost two business weeks just for an "advanced" replacement to ship!I called Linksys and was told they had trouble finding an available replacement to ship.That sounded ominous but I am in it now.I was assure I would be receiving the replacement sometime within the next week (mean while there is a hold on my credit card for the cost of the replacement waiting for this replacement to arrive so I can return the malfunctioning one).
We will see how the replacement performs when it arrives.But for now, I would recommend checking the other available routers before purchasing the WRT3200ACM (or if you do...keep the your old router as a spare until Linksys figures out how to properly handle problematic products). ***Update*** Received my replacement unit from Linksys in a couple of days....the same WRT3200ACM model.Got it online, updated the firmware...bam same problem. Now on the Linksys support site only a firmware version from months ago is available with a note that people experiencing problems should roll back the firmware to the old version (which btw doesnt address the KRACK exploit vulnerabilities).I did the roll back as instructed.Still having issues with devices staying connected. Guess I will have to stand in line with the other WRT3200ACM owners waiting for the Linksys team to let the customers be their beta testers.Wondering if Linksys will make this right. ***Update***
Still dealing with this fiasco.Called Linksys Support again 12/26 because I am...like everyone else having problems the WRT3200 ACM router dropping wifi.Was told they were very sorry and they would ship me a EA8300 overnight as a replacement.I called them on 01/02 since I had not received the replacement nor the promised email with a tracking number.Support told me they had a record of the replacement request but it had not been properly finalized by "Tech Support".Now I am again waiting on a promised email notifying me the replacement has shipped.
So in review...If you would like a month long odyssey of tech support calls, hours on hold listening to bad music, and to be witness to a failed support program and a broken product with no fix in sight...This is the product and company for you!
I had a Linksys AC1900 AC from Amazon in Oct. 2015 for about 1.5 years and really liked the performance and network tools - at least I did when the unit was not routinely requiring a full reset to return to a stable Internet connection. I ultimately just got fed up with resetting and looked into a replacement router. Foolishly, I settled on the AC1900 ACS expecting that Linksys must have resolved the instability; maybe the memory design on the AC was too small but now the ACS has 2X that memory. I was absolutely Wrong. I bought the AC1900 ACS from Amazon on April 12, 2017, installed it immediately, and it ran like a dream till the first reset 5/23/17, then the second reset 5/29/17 (lines dropping, email links can't resolve URLs and can't be sent, etc.). Too late to return to Amazon. Next reset 6/2/17, then Again 6/6/17. Just hopeless instability and ~ $500+ out of pocket. So there's evidently a bug in the Marvel chipset that powers this router.If you hook up any recently patched Android device to this router wirelessly, you can expect your entire Wi-Fi network to come crashing down within a few hours.No client device should be able to bring down an entire network.The blame is squarely on Linksys and/or Marvel. It has been almost a month and still no fix.I am finding the fact that this still is not fixed unacceptable and I will be avoiding both company's products in the future as a result of this experience.
I've always trusted Linksys, I have the WRT1900ac, and decided to get this for my office. I'm returning and changing to ASUS as this router stops broadcasting on 2.4 ghz and you have to continously reboot it. then the 5ghz wont let new users in when that happens to. so there you go, you are rebooting the router everyday to have it fixed.
When we finally got it installed it is a compact way of getting a wireless link for our satellite broadband. However it arrived with an American plug which we had to put into a travel adapter initially. The set up disk did not complete the set up and we had to phone a friend to get the set up completed. Now it's set up all is working well but not the easy install the reviews implied. The wireless signal is not strong and devices loose it if more than two rooms away.

El contenido es un disco que trae una serie de guía para el usuario en varios idiomas, el router, un adaptador de corriente, las cuatro antenas y el cable ethernet para conectar el router a su módem. **Acceder al sitio de Linksys smart wifi te permite un sin fin de funciones, desde ver cuanto consume cada dispositivo conectado, habilitar una red provisional para invitados, dar prioridad de bando de ancha a ciertos dispositivos e incluso plataformas entre otras más. En cuanto al envió llego por UPS, y llego en tiempo pero el problema que veo es que la actualización en su sitio sobre el estatus del pedido tardan en actualizar bastante, algo que con pedidos de importación con DHL no sucede.

Como todo sabemos este router en cuestiones de hardware es de los mejores disponibles ahorita. Por un rato tuvimos unos problemas severas de firmware, cabe señalar que Linksys mostró una actitud ejemplar en ayudar a sus clientes.
Ya se lanzó el nuevo firmware y con eso resolvieron los problemas y por lo tanto le vuelvo a dar 5 estrellas.Aun no le cargo firmware open source (ellos aun andan mejorando sus wifi drivers), pero creo que este router será una de los mejores para estos fines.
Llevó ya varios meses usandolo y hasta el momento no he tenido ningún problema, lo configure inicialmente con las caracteristicas por default, y me era muy funcional, pero después sin invertir mas que unos 30 minutos configuré todo para mis necesidades. Cuando tengo visitas activo la red de invitados y en el momento que se van la desactivo desde la APP, tengo conectado mi disco duro externo y hago los respaldos de mi celular, sin necesidad de una computadora, veo fotos o videos, y es muy útil cuando el proveedor de internet tiene fallos. He tenido conectados 15 dispositivos al mismo tiempo y sin problema funcionan todos.

Es increíble que tratándose de un modelo del 2016 ofrezca opciones que no cualquier router incluye, la aplicación de linksys es muy sencilla de usar. Sin embargo, no creo que sea indispensable y recomiendo mucho usar un firmware como openwrt que permite explotar el equipo al límite. Lo único que podría ver como comentario es el tamaño pues es bastante grande así que tengan en mente un área adecuada para colocarlo sin nada encima.

Una vez instalado mi red WIFI local mejoró a un punto que no creía ya que antes de instalar el Linksys no podía tener con el modem de Telmex más de 2 equipos por WIFI concurrentemente ya que la conexión empezaba a fallar considerablemente. Ahora con el Linksys ya no tengo ese problema y puedo tener, hasta el momento comprobados, 3 equipos realizando video streaming al mismo tiempo (Netflix, Amazon Prime, FOX) más 2 celulares Android navegando sin problemas de performance. MUY COMPLACIDO con mi compra. El precio no es económico pero conociendo la marca no me defraudó la relación costo beneficio. It's been a month since installation. It gives a very good speed and software Grant's complete control over device. One drawback is that it takes about 2 hrs to start internet access after a restart. That's annoying . Otherwise on speed check it's at par with LAN. Would have given 5 stars if this initial delay is absent. Me incremento de manera sustancial al 100% el wifi en comparación con el modem malisimo que dan las compañías. Lo malo es que en wifi hay aparatos que no me toma la banda 5Mhz como la PS4, solo me toma la 2,4Mhz y es lentisima.
